This technological “cloud”has two goals: reducing the waste of energy and water while creating a space in the city for wellness. This can be offered to a single inhabitant according to the different weather conditions. Utilizing a system that senses the presence of people, the cloud pumps water vapor directly onto users who are passing through.

The construction of a personalized micro-climate is generated by a system of ultrasound sensors that calculate the presence and speed of the users within the existing space. It generates a low dispersion weather system connected to a system of LED lights that simultaneously illuminate their path.

The tropical and hot areas of the world continue to experience substantial urban growth. With this, there is the parallel dispersion of energy and raw materials that are used to make most of these contemporary environments able to maintain climactic conditions similar to northern countries while remaining efficient from a productive point of view. The research of the Ratti studio focuses on a vision of urban environments where a widespread system of sensors allows for a precise and thoughtful use of heat containment systems. These systems are able to interact with the passage of people and with the temperature in that precise moment.

The ability to concentrate the efforts of the machine’s energy into a precise series of actions substantially reduces the consumption of water and of energy resources. It also aims at transforming new urban environments from places of heavy, constant material consumption to landscapes in which the relationships between machines and people’s lives vary continuously and generate wellness.

The challenge initiated by this prototype is significant; it is part of a widespread policy framework. Most of these countries are increasingly engaged in careful environmental policy work that could stand out over the next decades and that could have ecological, social, and economic consequences.
